About Akuvitis Eye Drop

MOXIFLOXACIN belongs to a class of antibiotics known as fluoroquinolone that has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, including respiratory pathogens, gram-negative pathogens and many anaerobic bacteria (that can survive without oxygen). It is primarily taken to treat bacterial infections of the nose, sinus, throat, lungs (pneumonia), urinary tract and female upper genital tract. A bacterial infection is a condition in which bacteria grows in the body and cause infection. It can target any body part and multiple very quickly.

MOXIFLOXACIN contains Moxifloxacin that acts as a bactericidal agent that kills bacteria causing a wide range of infections. It works by stopping a bacteria's ability to copy their genetic material (DNA) which ultimately kills bacteria and stops them from reproducing. This treats your infection. Additionally, when this medicine is taken as a course, as directed by a physician, it helps in eradicating and preventing the return of infections caused due to microorganisms responsible for bacterial infections. Streptococcus pneumonia, (pneumonia-causing bacteria) resistant to previous fluoroquinolones antibiotics, are less likely to be resistant to MOXIFLOXACIN. It will not work for viral infections (like a common cold, flu).
